Responsible Gaming

This page sets out how to think about gambling as entertainment with a fixed cost, and it explains exactly what this site does and does not do to support that. Nothing on this page happens automatically: the practical safeguards described here live at the destination you reach after following a link, not on this site.

Decide the amount and the limit before you start

Set the sum you are willing to lose before you begin, and treat it as already spent the moment you commit it. This removes the pressure of watching a running balance and makes the decision once, calmly, rather than repeatedly under the influence of a result. If a session reaches that amount, stop — the number was the point, not a target to renegotiate mid-session.

Never chase a loss. The urge to keep playing to recover money already gone is a normal reaction, but it treats gambling as something owed to you rather than as an activity you paid for. A loss that has already happened cannot be undone by staking more; it can only be added to.

Keep gambling separate from borrowed money or funds earmarked for bills, rent or anything else you depend on. Using money you cannot afford to lose turns a leisure activity into a financial risk that outlasts the session itself.

Take breaks during play and between sessions. Stepping away resets perspective and makes it easier to notice whether you are still enjoying the activity or simply continuing out of habit. If gambling stops feeling like entertainment — if it starts to feel compulsory, secretive or stressful — involve someone else early: a friend, a family member, or one of the independent organisations linked below. Raising it early, before it becomes a larger problem, is easier for everyone involved than raising it later.

Only readers aged eighteen or over should gamble. That restriction is repeated throughout this site, including on the front page and at the end of every operator listing, and each of the ten operator listings also carries the same closing line: check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, because eligibility rules and terms apply there and can change without notice.

Know where the controls actually sit

Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion belong to an operator account. This site has no account, no form and no server-side application behind it, so nothing published here can switch one of those controls on, check its status or enforce it. If you want any of them, they are set up and managed inside the account you open at the destination, under that destination's own rules — not here.

Nobody's age is verified on this site and no gambling takes place on it. Any check of that kind happens at the destination, once you have followed an operator link and are on its own system. Each operator link on this site redirects to a third party, and from that point on, the destination's rules, checks and account controls apply — not anything published on this page.

No advertising or behavioural profiling network runs on these pages, so nothing here is targeted at a reader based on risky play or past behaviour. This site does not track individual visitors for that purpose and has no basis on which to do so.

Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: begambleaware.org, gamblingtherapy.org and gamcare.org.uk. These are the only outbound links on the site that are not commercial: they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site receives nothing when a reader follows them. They are provided as an independent source of help, and nothing more is claimed about what they offer beyond that.
